Workforce Estimating Conference
The mission of the Workforce Estimating Conference (WEC) is to identify high skill / high wage / high demand occupations, and to make job training market-based to meet the needs of business (economic development). The WEC develops the official state demand occupations list based on industry and occupational employment projections and wages prepared by the Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation, Labor Market Statistics office.
The WEC is authorized under §445.011 of the Florida Statutes. The conference meets semi-annually and makes recommendations to Workforce Florida, Inc. on additions or deletions to the state demand occupations list approved by Workforce Florida, Inc.
§216.136 - Section 7 of the Florida Statutes describes the duties and principals of the WEC. Also see, consensus estimating conferences, Florida Statute §216.134
